Independence Hosts Halloween Pumpkin Patch

Working together for Jamin, many local residents, volunteers and agencies gathered together for a great cause on Sunday, July 10 at Frazier Lane Park in Independence.  The family of Independence native Jamin Robison, who was killed in a hit and run just one mile from his home in July 2010, along with Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa and St. Helena and other town and parish agencies, held the rally to ask for answers and raise money to increase the Crime Stoppers reward offered.

Mayor Michael Ragusa of Independence accepts a percentage check to go toward the won of Independence in the amount of $44,435.0 on Wednesday, February 23 in Parish President Gordon Burgess' office in Amite.

During the monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 12, the Town of Independence and the Central Tangi Head Start recognized and honored members of the Army National Guard who hold post at the Armory in Independence.
