“We had 10 bags of stuffed animals, and they’re all gone,” Ragusa said with a smile after handing one to Anthony.
“It’s so good to see Sami laughing again acting like a kid again. It’s truly a blessing!” said her mother, Gabby Smith. “We don’t get to do things like this very often. Two years ago, she went through a lot, and I’m glad to see her having a good time tonight. It is great! It’s awesome!”

Another hugely successful Christmas Parade was held in the Town of Independence, Louisiana. Mayor Ragusa, Police Chief Frank Edwards, The Independence Town Council and Fire Department all welcomed Santa in the elaborate celebration.

The Town of Independence and North Oaks are partnering to host an open house on Thurs., Aug. 25 from 5-7 p.m. to introduce Dr. Anthony D. Haase III and the staff of the newly renovated North Oaks Primary Care Clinic—Independence to the community at large. A ribbon cutting program will be held from 5-5:30 p.m. with tours, family-friendly activities, door prize drawings and refreshments to follow until 7 p.m.
